SápmiDem facilitated a discussion at the Sámi Youth conference in August 2025 in Anár (Inari) on participation, FPIC principle and the revised Sámi Parliament Act in Finland.
Participants highlighted the need for stronger, long-term spaces for real participation. Building trust was seen as key — and trust must be earned, especially given past experiences of injustice and being sidelined by state decision-making.
